It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. However, as Miss Bennet was the youngest of her sisters, and had just turned twenty-one, there was no occasion for fretting about what she might be doing at that age. She had no profession to pursue, no hopes of being raised to a better station by marriage. Her prospects were limited; yet she had very good health, a comfortable home, and a number of agreeable relatives.
