This is not a new phenomenon. The music industry has always been competitive. However, in the past, record labels would often provide artists with the resources they needed to succeed. They would help them to record their music, to produce videos, and to tour. Today, artists are largely on their own.
One reason for this change is the decline of the major record labels. In the 1960s, there were only a few major labels, and they had a lot of power. Today, there are many more labels, and they have less power. This means that artists have more choices, but it also means that they have less support.
Another reason for the change is the rise of the Internet. The Internet has made it easier for artists to distribute their music. They can now sell their music online and reach a global audience. Despite these challenges, many artists are still finding success. They are using the Internet to promote their music and to connect with fans.
